The HCG Diet consists of 4 stages:

  • Phase 1 (not required)
  • Phase 2 (2 gorge days & 21-38 plus VLCD days)
  • Phase 4 (life plan)

HCG Phase 1: 

Just to let you know, this part of the diet is also known as Phase 1, P1, preparation phase... so don't be confused if you see different terms throughout your research on the HCG Diet. Phase 1 is considered an optional phase that Kevin Trudeau added to the HCG Diet plan. It is sort of a detox and cleanse to prepare your body better for weight loss on the HCG Diet. Since we follow Dr. Simeons' HCG Diet plan, most of our participants do not complete this unnecessary part of the HCG Diet. You can see Kevin Trudeau's book for more information on HCG Phase 1 if you would like. Again, it is completely optional for the DIY HCG Diet program. We do not really think it is necessary and most of our dieters just start with Phase 2.

HCG Phase 2: Gorge + Very Low Calorie Diet Phase

HCG Gorge Days:

The first 2 Days of the HCG Diet consist of taking your HCG drops loading on high fat foods, commonly referred to as 'gorging'.

Dr. Simeons referred to the gorge days as a “gain before loss” and in Dr. Simeons’ Manuscript he said, “One cannot keep a patient comfortably on 500 calories unless his normal fat reserves are reasonably well stocked. It is for this reason also that every case, even those that are actually gaining must eat to capacity of the most fattening food they can get down until they have had the third HCG Diet day. It is a fundamental mistake to put a patient on 500 Calories as soon as the injections are started, as it seems to take about three injections before abnormally deposited fat begins to circulate and thus become available.” This is a very important part of the HCG Diet! If you do not do your gorge properly, you may be quite miserable the first day or two of the HCG Diet plan.

Sample HCG Gorge Day Menu:Find a example menu for the HCG gorge days... so much high-fat foods!

  • Breakfast: Cream-filled donuts with whole milk, sausage, bacon and full fat Greek yogurt
  • Snack 1: Twix Bar (or your favorite candy bar)
  • Snack 2: Tortilla chips and guacamole
  • Lunch: Pizza and Caesar salad with lots of cheese & extra dressing
  • Snack 3: Some of your favorite ice cream
  • Snack 4: A Big Mac or a Whopper (or your favorite hamburger) with fries
  • Dinner: Fettuccini alfredo (for the fatty sauce), garlic bread, and some rich cheesecake
  • Snack 5: Fried mozzarella sticks
  • Snack 6: Oreos dipped in whole milk

As you can see from the sample gorge menu, the foods are fatty, fatty, fatty. Also, be sure to include any foods or drinks that you think you might crave in the next month during your round of the HCG Diet. Any restaurant favorites or culinary pleasures you must satiate before your “cleanse”? Go for it!
