Vitamins and Supplements to Look Out for on the HCG Diet
Vitamins Not Recommended on The HCG Diet
During your 40-day journey on the 500-calorie phase of the HCG Diet, you need to postpone your vitamin supplementation.
The main reason for this is because vitamins frequently contain calories, sugars, starches and oils which can waylay your weight loss.
Fat Loss Feeds the Body
Dr. Simeons referred to his patients, who worried that they would become anemic or unhealthy if they stopped taking their vitamins and restricted their diet, saying, “…every time they lose a pound of fatty tissue, which they do almost daily, only the actual fat is burned up; all the vitamins, the proteins, the blood, and the minerals which this tissue contains in abundance are fed back into the body.”
He went to on say, “... we have never encountered a significant protein deficiency or signs of a lack of vitamins in patients who are dieting regularly.”
In other words, your body is getting all the nutrition it needs from your stored fat and the food you are eating. Once you have finished taking your weight loss drops, wait 72 hours after your last dose since it takes about that amount of time for the hcg to exit your system. Then, you may and are encouraged to resume your vitamin supplementation.
During this period of vitamin restriction, the teeth of participants that are in poor condition may continue to get worse. Because of this, Dr. Simeons allowed calcium and vitamin D to be taken as long as they were not in an oily solution. The only other vitamin he permitted was vitamin C, which he used in large doses combined with an antihistamine at the onset of a head cold.
B12 Can Increase Energy
Today, many practitioners prescribe vitamin B12 injections, drops, or capsules for their HCG Diet patients since B12 may help to increase energy levels. Some brands may have a negative effect, i.e., some dissolvable B12 tablets contain sugar and artificial cherry flavor, so make sure you check the ingredients of your vitamin B12 supplement.
It you experience leg or muscle cramps, we recommend homeopathic cell salts, available in our online store. Our cell salt product does not affect weight loss on the HCG Diet. If you decide to purchase cell salts from another source, it must be homeopathic, and you’ll want to check the ingredients.
Minimize Vitamins While on HCG Diet
To summarize in a nutshell, while on the DIY HCG Diet Plan, we do not recommend taking any extra vitamins other than vitamins C, D, and calcium, and ONLY when needed.
These must be taken in non-oily, non-capsule, pill forms with no other ingredients listed and no nutritional values as far as calories, carbs and sugars. Vitamin B12 that is homeopathic or formulated for the HCG Diet Protocol, and homeopathic cell salts are also allowed.
Keep in mind that everybody is different. If you experience stalls or gains while using these products, discontinue use until you reach maintenance. Good luck on your weight loss journey!
