Ground Beef and Cabbage Skillet

This Cabbage and Ground Beef recipe makes an easy one-pan meal. It boasts an Asian flair with lots of flavor and texture! Safe for Phase 2, the low-calorie phase of the HCG Diet, it counts as 1 meat serving and 1 vegetable serving.

- 100 g 93% fat free ground beef
- 1/8 tsp minced ginger
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp chili powder
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 3 drops clear stevia
- 1/4 large head green cabbage sliced
- 1 tbsp Bragg Liquids Aminos*
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar

Place a large skillet over medium heat.

Once hot, add the ground beef and minced ginger. Brown the beef, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks, about 5 minutes.

Add all the spices to the skillet and stir to combine

Cook an additional minute.

Add the cabbage to the pan and gently toss to combine.

Cover the pan with a lid and let cook over low-medium heat for about 5-7minutes until the cabbage has wilted and softened a little bit but still has texture.

Make sure to stir every 1-2 minutes so the cabbage doesn’t burn.

Stir the stevia into the liquid aminos and then add it to the pan.

Toss to combine and cook for another 1-2 minutes.

Pour the apple cider vinegar into the pan, turn off the heat.

Stir to combine one more time.

Serve on a plate or in a bowl.
*We have found that Bragg Liquid Aminos seem to be okay to use while on Phase 2 (the VLCD phase) of the HCG Diet. Calories, carbs, and sugar are all zero. When using Bragg Liquid Aminos, write it down in your daily weight/diet food log you’re using to track your progress. If it has a negative effect on your weight loss, discontinue use.
